The upstream image offers a choice of MPL 1.1, GPL 2.0 or later, or LGPL 2.1 or later. This edition’s image redistribution uses Mozilla Public License 2.0 under the later-version provision in MPL 1.1 section 6.2, as explained in Mozilla’s Revision FAQ, question 6. The original upstream alternatives are not withdrawn.

What is included
- The unchanged upstream PNG, 997 × 714 pixels.
- The exact PNG used in the book, 987 × 200 pixels.
- A newly regenerated, pixel-identical crop with an embedded MPL 2.0 notice.
- The crop rectangle, per-image license notices, full MPL 2.0 text, retained upstream license information, change history and file checksums.
- Unchanged reference components from the official Firefox 1.0.8 source release, with their own original notices and the full NPL 1.0 text.
Crop and change record
The text-only rectangle is left 5, top 240, width 987, height 200 in the supplied upstream PNG. Voidlog regenerated this crop on 18 October 2026 and verified that its displayed pixels match the existing book image. The original and as-used image bytes are preserved. The package distinguishes this actual regeneration date from an older working-file timestamp. No words, colors or internal text layout were changed beyond retaining the rectangular text region.
Separate legacy component notices
The included Firefox mozilla.xhtml retains its NPL 1.0 header, Netscape Communications Corporation copyright and contributor notices. It is not relicensed to MPL 2.0. The separate mozilla.dtd and original release LICENSE are preserved without adding an invented per-file notice. These files are source references, not a claim to reproduce the entire historical browser or its rendering environment. Reuse and availability
The image source package is provided without DRM or password protection. Read its notices and full license terms before reuse or redistribution. Voidlog imposes no additional restrictions on MPL image-source rights and will retain accessible source while distributing this illustration in the book edition.
The image license does not relicense the book text. The book manuscript is not included in this package. No Mozilla or Netscape trademark permission or endorsement is claimed.
